A Letter from the Board of Directors
"Jembatan" is a word from the Indonesian language meaning “bridge” and reflects our mission: to build bridges of understanding and friendship between different cultures around the world and broaden the mental, social, and geographic horizons of our students through experiencing other cultures that are considerably different from their own.
While we are confident that you share these desires as well, we also realize that many institutions, perhaps even yours, do not have the resources nor the capacity to establish and maintain a functioning study abroad infrastructure in places like Southeast Asia. Let us help you. We have over 30 years combined experience in the region and dedicated professionals that can see your program through from planning to completion. We offer a unique service in the study abroad business since it is our philosophy that you know better than anyone what your students need and want. We simply help you make it happen by tackling all of the logistics and infrastructural issues. Therefore, as an infrastructure provider, Jembatan does not grant credits or organize curriculum. We leave that to you and your institution. We just make it possible for you to carry out your academic goals for a study abroad program in Southeast Asia.
